Some Effective Grass Roots Advertising Strategies |

|
I can still remember my first job like it was yesterday. When I was in
high school, a close friend asked me to help him at the opening of his
father's new restaurant. The new restaurant was a Chinese take-out and
delivery joint. I agreed and I was all too happy to lend my friend a
hand.
However, I was greeted by his less than calm father upon my arrival. My friend’s father nudged me over to a chair and told me that he needed a delivery guy to cope with all the customer’s delivery orders. I was hesitant to accept his offer because I thought I was just coming by to help move some heavy kitchen supplies or help hang a sign.
It was never my plan to deliver food. Anyway, that's how it all began. I was soon racing around town with orders of Chinese food. I also helped my buddy in coming up with advertising strategies to increase his father’s business.
We managed to come up with several advertising strategies. One of the strategies we devised was designing flyers for the business. We advertised the Chinese restaurant, where it was located, the hours of operation, and several meal specials on our flyers. You see, advertising strategies are all about knowledge. You have to let people know about your company if you plan to acquire their business.
The next step is the doing the necessary footwork. I drove all over town, hit up every neighborhood and apartment complex, and hang or post our flyers on doors. This way the flyers will be the first thing that the residents will see when they return home. The customers will call if they love Chinese food. Fortunately, a lot of people did. The specials were the key ingredient of our advertising strategies.
There are plenty to test and play around with when it comes to advertising strategies. You can even get an idea from the ads on television. There are infinite advertising strategies at work in television. There is basically no limit to the advertising game.
